EMPOWER YOURSELF
Although based in Canada, I work with people around the world, from Germany to Australia and practically every point in between. Email, Skype, Facebook and even the old-fashioned telephone let me work with clients no matter where they happen to be at any given time.
I'm a healer, empath, and hypnotherapist who uses clinical hypnosis and regression therapy to help individuals heal, re-energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. My main aim is help you achieve your goals by unlocking the hidden powers of your mind. You're much more powerful than you think—and hypnosis can prove that to you in very real ways.
I have written two books so far explaining what it is, but if I had to sum it up in a single sentence, it would be this: mind over matter; spirit over mind. Among the ancients, this was a commonly accepted truth, but most modern human beings have forgotten what it means. Fortunately, hypnosis has the power to provide a timely reminder—and I have the power to hypnotize.
We all experience depression, fear, and anxiety from time to time, but that doesn't mean such emotions have to control our lives. After all, we have better things to do with our time. Through counselling and hypnosis, I can help you keep negative emotions in check, get your mojo back, gain a new perspective, and feel the joy that EVERYONE deserves to feel.
Many individuals experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness can linger for years following traumatic events. My job is to use hypnosis to help you overcome these symptoms and guide you to a better place—a place where peace of mind, not trauma, becomes your normal state of being.
Your past doesn't have to decide your future. That's your job. Hypnotic regression gets you to the root of past trauma by going back in time to the place it first arose and eliminating it at source. I've guided hundreds of people through the process, enabling them to safely snuff out whatever is standing between them and their dreams. After all, it's your life, and you have a right to live it as you see fit, without the past getting in the way.
Hypnosis is an effective way of fighting any number of addictions, from smoking to alcoholism, and I've used it with great success for years. My husband smoked cigarettes for over two decades. Thanks to hypnosis, he hasn't had a puff in fifteen years.
Fear is at the root of many modern problems, and hypnosis is an excellent way of both understanding and eliminating the underlying anxiety that brings those problems into being.
Hypnosis is not about me controlling you. It's about you and I, together, steering your mind down new pathways. It's a cooperative, consensual exercise in reprogramming your behaviour in order to make it work for you, instead of against you. In the end, it's about utilizing your personal power for your own purposes. In other words, it's about the power of mind—and the power of spirit.
At the bottom of many physical problems is a mental one, and that's where hypnosis comes in. Hypnosis has been scientifically proven to have a beneficial effect on many physical ailments, from broken bones to chronic pain. And the best part? It has no side effects whatsoever—other than empowerment.
I don't push my spirituality on anyone, but neither do I shy away from spiritual questions. For many people, hypnosis (particularly regression) is a gateway to higher consciousness and a more spiritual, self-aware life. In my view, our society needs more of that (in fact, lots more) and hypnosis is one way to get it.
If you've read my books, you'll have a good idea of what this is, but for those who haven't, it's pretty simple. Hypnotic regression can take you back to your very earliest memories—but it's also capable of opening doorways into other dimensions and lifetimes, which can bring about profound healing on the deepest level imaginable. (But don't take my word for it. Give it a try.)
Memories store the original physical and emotional reactions that occurred when they were first formed. Each time similar events recur, there is a strong tendency to repeat those original responses, even decades afterward. Needless to say, that's not always such a great idea, as some responses are no longer appropriate or healthy. By guiding you back to the original memory through a process called regression, a trained hypnotherapist can help you break the hold a bad pattern has over your life, leading to better behaviour and a healthier outlook.
Hypnotherapy can create new behaviour—and abilities
This is done through the power of suggestion, which is particularly effective while an individual is in the relaxed state of focused concentration known as "trance." Before anyone starts picturing zombies and vampires, it's important to be clear that trance is actually a common state of mind that everyone experiences in daily life, and it involves no loss of self-control. We often momentarily lapse into a trance state just before falling asleep, when stopped at a red light or when admiring a beautiful work of art. The difference is that when induced by a trained hypnotherapist, trance can open the door to a new way of life.
Hypnotherapy isn’t about dancing like a chicken on a stage
It's about allowing a trained professional to help you access and fully utilize your own power, so life will become less of a struggle and more of what you want it to be. It's about developing skills and harnessing your inner wisdom. It's about getting a psychological turbo-boost that will let you escape the shackles that are holding you down. It's about sculpting your perfect life. It's about moving beyond fear.
Clinical studies show hypnosis can even improve immune function
It's also highly effective in reducing the anxiety that accompany uncomfortable medical procedures. When used during an operation, it can improve recovery time and decrease anxiety as well as post-surgery discomfort.
A hypnotherapist can also teach self-regulation skills: someone with arthritis can learn how to turn down pain like the volume on a radio. Other conditions that respond well to hypnotherapy include sleep disorders, skin disorders, eating disorders, addictions, cancer-related pain, phobias, bedwetting, migraine headaches, stress, bone fractures and ulcers. And that just scratches the surface.
“Though often denigrated as fakery or wishful thinking, hypnosis has been shown to be a real phenomenon with a variety of therapeutic uses.”

“I was suffering from a sleeping disorder as long as I can remember. After my first hypnotherapy session with Linda, I fell asleep for sixteen hours, and I have slept well ever since. Her clear and honest answers helped me understand and resolve many issues in my life and finally make peace with my past. I always recommend Linda to people I know.”

"Since we were to see you I'm very happy to say June has had no pain at all in her lower back. Prior to our visit she was in constant pain, 24-7. To us you are a superhero, and I can't find enough words to convey to you how eternally grateful we are. We not only thank you for what you have done for us, but we also thank God very much for giving you the skill to relieve her pain as you did. I only wish we'd have met you many years before.”
—Larry & June Chickoski, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada
"I found Linda extremely easy to talk to. She is wonderful, caring, direct and spot on!"
—Glenys Chow, San Francisco, California, USA
"First the word. Then the plant. Lastly, the knife.—Asclepius of Thessaly, 1200 BC. Although many come to hypnotherapy as a last resort, as Asclepius, one of the fathers of Western medicine proscribed over three millennia ago, it should be first. Linda Bos has a gentle knack for teasing out the deeper resources of our psyches. If you want to go deeper, and be more of yourself, start here first.”
—Mark Powell, Victoria, BC, Canada
“When you 'sign up' with Linda Bos, be prepared to have your confidence boosted, your fears eradicated and your dreams actualized. She's more than a life coach because she works from the inside out, walking with you as you explore all the baggage that is holding you back from being honestly and joyfully connected with yourself and everyone you love.”
—Christie Roome, Salt Spring Island, BC, Canada
"When I first found Linda I'd hit a low point in my life: I was homesick, underemployed and distraught over the breakdown of a relationship. I did not know how to handle what I was experiencing as I had never been so off kilter. I could not see the big picture and was stuck in a cycle of distress, depression and disappointment. I was also new to the city and did not have many people I could turn to for support. She spent more than an hour on the phone helping me and restoring my hope right there and then. She made an early appointment for me to see her even though she had a full schedule. Hypnotherapy sessions not only helped me relax and sleep better, they helped me restore my self-confidence, gain clarity and more self-awareness than I had ever had. I don’t think hypnotherapy would work with just any hypnotherapist—Linda Bos has such skill at helping her clients reach a deep level of hypnosis quickly. Her soothing voice and beautiful guided imagery make it easy to let go and awaken the subconscious mind."
—Michelle Saper, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
"She dedicates her time to helping others"
"With Linda’s support and guidance, I went from depressed, suicidal, and desperate to confident, thriving, and in control. Through a combination of counselling and hypnotherapy we were able to find the root of my self-hate and confusion. Linda dedicates her time to helping others discover their highest self; her passion for that radiates in the love and care she provides to me. I have learned from Linda that self-love is a life-long journey of discovery and rediscovery. I now know that loving and respecting myself is of the highest value. My work with Linda is far from over, and for that I am truly grateful because she is an integral part of who I am becoming—a confident woman who believes anything is possible."
—L Lawrence, Victoria, BC, Canada
"Linda assisted me through the most difficult of times. Through working with her, members of my family also found the support they needed to address difficult personal issues and redirect their lives in positive ways. I highly recommend Linda. Anyone who ever needed a good, kind, compassionate friend to listen could benefit from the guidance, care and empathetic dedication Linda brings to her work. Thank you, Linda. You do great work!”

"I needed assistance after my mother's death. My work with Linda helped me release tension and frustration, which was beginning to affect my health and relationships. Each hypnotherapy session allowed my body to relax, which helped me let go of my grief, feel focused and get grounded. Working with her helped me tremendously through a challenging transition."
—Carola Schleuss, Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Nelson, BC, Canada
"Linda is without question the most intuitive, emotionally and clinically intelligent person I have ever met. She does not direct, but guides, and will insist on you doing your 'homework.' Using her methods, results are quickly achieved. As a result of an insurance requirement, I was made to see a psychologist. Once I explained to the psychologist what Linda and I were doing, he told me to keep up the good work with her! For anyone who is considering an appointment with Linda but is still unsure about hypnotherapy, regression or just simply her 'outside the box' method of counselling, I strongly encourage you to make the appointment. The proof of her gift has been overwhelming."
—Marlene Cornish, Director of Food, Alberta 55 Plus Winter Games, Edmonton, Canada
"My time with Linda has been little short of amazing! She has a way about her that assisted me in sorting out my jumbled mess of anxiety and challenges. She helped me to put things into perspective and supported me through the process. She also gave me ‘homework’ that I could work on when I was not with her to get me pointed in the right direction. The combination of her compassion, insight and obvious passion for what she does left me feeling a sense of relief and calm each time I left her office. There’s no other way to say it, she is simply the best!”
—Marion Harding-Soare, Victoria, BC, Canada
"Your help and care have been nothing short of life-changing. I feel
unstoppable. My relationship with food has changed so much and has
really deeply affected the way I see myself and the love I have for myself.
This process has been unexpectedly spiritual for me, and I just want to
thank you so much. You came into my life at a point where I really needed
you and your offerings. Looking forward to our next chat."
—Erin Wilson, Courtenay, BC, Canada
"I came to Linda from a friend’s referral, after my brother died in a sudden accident in 2020. Linda’s ability to act as a medium to the 'other side' is otherworldly and second to none. She knew my brother so intimately there is no way to explain it other than this is the real deal. The communication she was able to make was healing and helpful... Linda is a trusted friend and advisor now. She is a gem and will undoubtedly give you, at very least, a new perspective — that is, if she doesn't completely blow your mind with remarkable revelations!"
—Alexander Arbess-Joy, Bali, Indonesia
"Linda has been a true gift to my husband and myself. The moment we met her, we felt safe and at ease in her presence. She has a remarkable ability to provide specific intuitive guidance while also showing compassion and kindness. I have been able to discover a path in life I thought had passed me by, because Linda showed me my blind spots."
—Kathryn MacDonald, Victoria, BC, Canada

potential and given me the confidence to make difficult life decisions with
ease. During our visits, Linda creates a comfortable and safe environment.

allowed me to navigate my life with clarity and purpose. Not only is Linda
an exceptional therapist, but I also consider her a wonderful spiritual
teacher."

“Four years ago, Ginandes and Daniel Rosenthal, professor of radiology at the Harvard Medical School, published a report on their study of hypnosis to speed up the mending of broken bones. They recruited 12 people with broken ankles who did not require surgery and who received the usual treatment at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. In addition, Ginandes hypnotized half of them once a week for 12 weeks, while the other half received only normal treatment. The same doctor applied the casts and other care, and the same radiologists took regular X-rays to monitor how well they healed. A radiologist who evaluated the X-rays did not know which patients underwent hypnosis. The result stood out like a sore ankle. Those who were hypnotized healed faster than those who were not. Six weeks after the fracture, those in the hypnosis group showed the equivalent of eight and a half weeks of healing.” See: https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2003/05/hypnosis-helps-healing-2/
"There is convincing evidence that hypnotic procedures are effective in the management and relief of both acute and chronic pain and in assisting in the alleviation of pain, discomfort and distress due to medical and dental procedures and childbirth." "Hypnosis and the practice of self-hypnosis may significantly reduce general anxiety, tension and stress in a manner similar to other relaxation and self-regulation procedures." "There is encouraging evidence demonstrating the beneficial effects of hypnotherapeutic procedures in alleviating the symptoms of a range of complaints that fall under the heading 'psychosomatic illness.’ These include tension headaches and migraine; asthma; gastro-intestinal complaints such as irritable bowel syndrome; warts; and possibly other skin complaints such as eczema, psoriasis and urticaria [hives].”
“Researchers here have determined that hypnosis and related relaxation techniques can actually prevent the weakening of the immune response that often follows periods of acute stress. A new study suggests that hypnosis may even slightly enhance the immune status in some people compared to similar individuals who don't use these interventions. If true, the findings could have important health implications for patients facing surgeries.”

“We carried out a randomized clinical trial to test the hypotheses that a brief presurgery hypnosis intervention would decrease intraoperative anesthesia and analgesic use and side effects associated with breast cancer surgery and that it would be cost effective... RESULTS: Patients in the hypnosis group required less propofol than patients in the control group. Patients in the hypnosis group also reported less pain intensity, pain unpleasantness, nausea, fatigue, discomfort, and emotional upset. Institutional costs for surgical breast cancer procedures were $8561 per patient at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Patients in the hypnosis group cost the institution $772.71 less per patient than those in the control group, mainly due to reduced surgical time... CONCLUSIONS: Hypnosis was superior to attention control regarding propofol and lidocaine use; pain, nausea, fatigue, discomfort, and emotional upset at discharge; and institutional cost. Overall, the present data support the use of hypnosis with breast cancer surgery patients.”
“In a recent study, researchers funded by the National Cancer Institute and NCCAM investigated the effects of hypnosis on hot flashes among women with a history of primary breast cancer, no current evidence of detectable disease, and at least 14 hot flashes per week over a 1-month period.... The women who received hypnosis had a 68% reduction in self-reported hot flash frequency/severity and experienced an average of 4.39 fewer hot flashes per day. Compared with controls, they also had significant improvements in self-reported anxiety, depression, interference with daily activities, and sleep.”
"After hypnotic induction (or in some cases even without it) participants exposed to suggestive statements can experience altered perceptual or bodily sensations. For instance, told that their arm is getting heavier and they cannot move it, a suggestible participant may experience paralysis of the arm. Sceptics may wonder about the veracity of these experiences, but brain imaging results are indicating they are real and not merely imagined."

I'm a certified clinical hypnotherapist, life coach and intuitive healer with over twenty years of experience helping people get their lives back on track and become productive, focused, happy human beings. I've worked with doctors, lawyers, scientists, truck drivers, Olympic athletes, expectant moms, kids, professors, teachers, executives and everyone in between.
I've written two books. The first, Between Two Worlds: A Healing Journey Through Time, is about how I came to be a spiritual healer. It includes case studies from my hypnotherapy practice and outlines my philosophical approach to hypnosis, spirituality and life. The second, Forbidden Powers: Why You Should Ignore the Taboo Against ESP and Psi, was co-authored with my husband Roderick Neufeld (under the pseudonym of Alexander Voltaire). Although it's primarily about the latest scientific research into paranormal phenomena, it also includes additional case studies from my many years as a hypnotherapist. Additional case studies (anonymized, of course) have also appeared in my husband's book, Barriers of Mist: Logical mysticism and the Machine Age. All three books are available at Amazon, and naturally I'd recommend them to anyone who's truly serious about exploring their inner world—or the history of mystical thought.
